allow me to briefly introduce myself

Hello there!

My name is Ayla Naumi (pronounced like "nommy") and I am the creator behind this new blog. I just wanted to take the time to introduce myself and say welcome!

I am a 30-something year old new stay-at-home mother of 1 (for now) who has too much time on her hands... just kidding! This kiddo of ours keeps me way too busy for that! But I did realize that I needed to find something to do with my "me time"-- whenever I can find a minute for it. Hence the reason for this blog!

Over the last 3 years, I became a wife and mother, left behind a medical career in the ER, and have immersed myself in a whole new world of unknowns. It has been quite the ride thus far- lots of sleepless nights, too many unanswered questions, new insecurities, but new confidences too. I have learned skills I never thought I would use in this life, lost ones I thought I would be practicing on a daily basis, and am definitely still perfecting others as my husband and child challenge me to do so- in all the best ways possible of course.

I love design, I love to dress up, I love to try new things. I've also recently discovered that I love to host-- I enjoy cooking and baking and experimenting with all things sourdough. I love my family and making new friends-- though that has been a more interesting challenge in this new stage of life.

So I suppose I am here to provide some insights as to what I have learned so far. I am no expert in any field at this point-- things change daily around here that even I can barely keep up sometimes! But I will do my best to pique your interest so that we can become friends and share in our experiences as they come and go!

Therefore, I am committing to writing on topics such as motherhood and its attached joys and challenges, healthy homemade recipes I attempt to prepare, hosting tips and tricks as I test them on my family and friends, and quite possibly a slew of other random topics that excite my interests as I love to read and listen to podcasts! It might be a mix of too many things to begin with but once I get the hang of this thing, hopefully I can narrow it down to the topics that actually interest others who are willing to follow along! Looking forward to whatever this adventure brings my way!
